a dangerous formula     we follow on fridays

it is high risk

and low reward,

                                            but we take the risk

                        nonetheless.

every lit-up floor

every disco ball,

                                a delicate dance

                 that reeks with

with unforgiveness

no matter how hard we try

every door only open to a few

                                          hardly open at all.

perhaps our adventure into the night

                        shouldn’t take this much

of the daylight

we’ve stored carefully inside us

taxi cabs and leftovers call our name

                                    we answer and almost submit,

until i feel a tap on the shoulder

                           and suddenly

we are climbing

                                up to the sky

do you think            life will always be this fickle?
